Tour Overview

This 14-day route runs in Tanzania's green season — April to May and November 2027 — which is the same itinerary the peak-season departures follow, but a genuinely different trip to be on.

The case for travelling now is straightforward. Lodge rates fall substantially, so the same comfort standard costs materially less than it does in July. The parks empty out: at a good sighting you are far more likely to be the only vehicle there, which changes how the day feels more than any lodge upgrade could. The landscape transforms from dust and pale grass into deep green, the skies build into the sort of light photographers plan trips around, and the migratory birds arrive in breeding plumage. Newborn animals are everywhere, and predators follow them.

The honest trade-offs: rain falls most days, usually as a heavy afternoon storm rather than all-day drizzle, and it rarely costs you a game drive. Grass grows long, which can make smaller cats harder to spot. A few black-cotton tracks turn soft, so your guide will sometimes reroute. None of it stops the safari; it simply asks for a little flexibility in exchange for the parks to yourself.

The route covers Tarangire, Mto wa Mbu, Ngorongoro and Serengeti, staying in comfort-tier properties. Every day runs in a private 4x4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof and a professional English-speaking driver-guide throughout, departing privately from Kilimanjaro International Airport. Park fees, VAT and the Tourism Development Levy are included, and children aged 5–11 are welcome sharing with adults.
